Your website deserves a regular check even when you are not planning a redesign. Start with the pages that introduce your main services and the routes customers use to get in touch.
Can a customer complete the task?
- Open the site on a phone and follow the menu.
- Check service details, prices where published, contact information and opening times.
- Test telephone and email links.
- Submit a clearly labelled test enquiry and verify delivery and confirmation.
- Check error messages, keyboard access and any booking or payment hand-off.
Is the content accurate?
Remove expired offers and update advice when facts change. Keep historical news dated rather than pretending it was written recently. Use genuine project information and appropriate images to explain the work.
Does the page behave well?
Look for slow main images, jumpy layouts and heavy third-party widgets. Review both measured performance and the experience of real visitors. Animation and AI features are optional; they should earn their place by helping the task.
Are the foundations maintained?
Confirm who manages software updates, access, backups and certificate renewal. A restore test is more useful than simply knowing that a backup exists. See our website security guide.
Are you measuring useful outcomes?
Check that successful enquiries are counted when they are actually sent. Review which service pages lead to relevant conversations, rather than relying on a headline traffic total.
