How to embed YouTube Videos without using Cookies

So here’s another little annoying fall-out from the new GDPR legislation.

Did you know that embedding a Youtube video onto your website actually installs 3 cookies on the users computer. So if a user does not accept the use of Cookies on your website (read more on this here) then they can’t view your lovely videos!

However, here’s a quick fix.

Luckily the clever people at Youtube have created a way around this. Just change the URL in any embed links from www.youtube.com to www.youtube-nocookie.com

So your youtube link that would usually look something like:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztl8Tq43Yng”

Will now read as :

https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/watch?v=ztl8Tq43Yng”

Simple!
