Environmental & sustainability policy

Practical choices that reduce our impact, from our working home to the services we provide.
Last reviewed: 17 September 2026

1. Our approach

We aim to reduce the environmental impact of running inLIFE and to make responsible choices part of everyday work. Our Eco Lodge in Burntwood brings useful technology, reused materials and a shared working space together.

This policy sets out our commitments and practical approach. It does not claim that every activity is impact-free, or that planned improvements are already complete.

2. Materials, purchasing and waste

We prioritise locally sourced, recycled, repurposed and lower-impact materials where suitable. The Lodge includes reused or locally sourced timber, recycled carpet and signage, and pre-loved furnishings.

We aim to reduce unnecessary purchases, packaging and waste, reuse equipment and materials, and recycle through appropriate routes. Digital documents are preferred where practical. Environmental considerations form part of supplier and product choices alongside suitability and service quality.

3. Energy and water

We work to reduce energy use through smart-controlled heating and cooling, an air source heat pump, motion-controlled lighting, individual lighting controls and energy monitoring. Smaller applications include a solar-powered doorbell and mobile charging.

Water-saving habits and automated irrigation help us use resources thoughtfully. Our irrigation arrangements include capturing water from the building and redistributing it to nearby woodland.

Our hosting service uses hosting infrastructure powered by renewable energy, as described for that service. This is a statement about that electricity supply, rather than a claim that the whole lifecycle of a website has no environmental impact.

4. Travel and flexible working

We aim to reduce unnecessary journeys through online meetings, sensible travel planning and shared transport where practical. Flexible working arrangements can reduce commuting while preserving the collaboration and support our team and clients need.

5. People, community and compliance

We are committed to meeting applicable environmental requirements and reviewing how they affect our operations. Team members can contribute ideas and raise concerns about waste, energy or resource use.

We share what we learn through our Lodge story, local relationships and conversations with clients and suppliers. We seek practical improvements rather than treating sustainability as a one-off project.

6. Review and future improvements

We review our practices as our business, technology and working environment change. Potential improvements previously identified for the Lodge include further renewable generation and battery storage, water reuse, planting and community involvement. These are development ideas; any completed additions will be described separately when confirmed.

Our Eco Lodge page documents the build and examples of the choices already made. We aim to make environmental statements specific and proportionate to the evidence available.

7. Questions and feedback
